SURGE, a flagship of the WHO Emergency Preparedness and Response (WHO EPR) initiative, is dedicated to providing rapid and efficient responses during health emergencies across African countries. We were subcontracted by Global Health Strategies (GHS) to develop a brand identity that effectively conveys this mission.

Our approach

We captured SURGE’s commitment to swift action through a pattern of lines that branch out like sunrays. Each line symbolizes the rapid and proactive measures taken by SURGE to deliver assistance, support, and resources to affected regions, radiating with the speed and intensity of sunlight. The branching lines also represent the extensive network of collaboration and coordination, illustrating how SURGE partners with local authorities, healthcare professionals, and global allies to address health crises at their epicenters. This sunray motif is consistently reflected throughout the brand identity, reinforcing the flagship’s focus on timely and effective intervention.
