Client Brief

Mama Rocks, the largest food track company in Kenya, embodies a contemporary and African-spirited culture. We had the honor of designing the packaging for their range of sauces, which are crafted from five unique ingredients sourced from different parts of Africa, including Kenya, Northern Sudan, Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana. The project brief was to create fun and vibrant packaging that reflects Mama Rocks’ free-spirited and lively brand aesthetic while honoring the diverse countries from which the sauces are sourced.

Our approach

We embraced the challenge of designing packaging that not only showcases the sauces but also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the African nations involved. We created custom fonts that add a playful touch to the design, incorporating textures and hand-drawn elements to give the packaging a handcrafted feel. To further enhance the cultural connection, we drew inspiration from various patterns, flag colors, and traditional clothing of each country, ensuring that the packaging tells a story of authenticity and vibrancy. The result is a packaging design that captures the essence of Mama Rocks and resonates with consumers, inviting them to experience the flavors of Africa.
